Ericsson’s Lenovo Brazil injunction upheld; Nokia nets Verifone deal; Looking beyond VVC; Sisvel team honoured; plus much more
Welcome to the latest edition of the Sisvel Insights weekly round-up, aggregating news stories, analyses and data points affecting the SEP world that have caught our eye over the past seven days
After an eventful few weeks, the last seven days were a little quieter. However, there was still plenty going on. In the long-running, multijurisdictional SEP litigation involving Ericsson and Lenovo, the Swedish company confirmed that attempts by Lenovo to overturn an injunction in Brazil has been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Verifone became the last Western point-of-sales payment device manufacturer to reach a licensing deal with Nokia, so ending a legal dispute between the pair.
Elsewhere, IAM identified 14 companies looking to develop the next video codec standard, even though deployment of VVC is only just beginning; and there was good news for Sisvel, with seven of our team being recognised as world leading IP strategists.
Please note that inclusion of a piece in the list below does not signify agreement with what is stated in the linked article, just that we believe it is of interest and worth pointing out.
