About Broadband
Sisvel managed the Broadband licensing programme related to DSL technology. The Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) is a telephone loop technology that used copper phones lines and provided a dedicated, high speed Internet connection to homes and businesses.
Sisvel offered a joint licence under the DSL patents held by Ericsson and Sisvel International S.A. (patents formerly owned by Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd., a division of Panasonic Corporation).
The Broadband licensing programme is no longer active, but Sisvel currently operates different patent pools and joint licensing programmes in the field of WI-FI technologies.
