Orange becomes latest licensor to join Sisvel’s Wi-Fi 6 patent pool
Luxembourg, April 29, 2024 - Orange is the latest world-class innovator to sign up to the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 patent pool as a licensor. The French company joins a host of other major names in contributing IP to the programme, the others being Huawei Technologies, Mediatek, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Philips, SK Telecom and Wilus.
As Wi-Fi 6 has emerged as the dominant WLAN technology, the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 patent pool has seen a surge in licensees, with 11 signing up since October 2023.
“We are delighted to welcome Orange to the Wi-Fi 6 pool as a licensor,” says programme manager Giorgia Varvelli. “The company’s decision to join is a further validation of the pool’s strength and the power of its offering to implementers of the technology.”
