LUXEMBOURG, 4 March 2025 – Sisvel, Europe’s biggest and longest-established patent pool operator, has appointed Dr. Matteo Sabattini as the firm’s Government Affairs Executive Adviser.   

In this role, Sabattini will guide Sisvel’s policy and advocacy efforts, with a focus on enabling policy makers in Europe, the US and Asia to understand how Sisvel’s efficient, market-driven licensing solutions benefit consumers and power innovation, as well as the firm’s views on patent-related policy initiatives.  

Sabattini most recently served as president and chief licensing officer of Convida, a joint venture between InterDigital and Sony Corporation of America. Prior to that, he was Ericsson’s director of IP policy. From 2014 to 2017 he was chief technology officer of the Sisvel Group, and between 2015 and 2017 also served as president and CEO of Sisvel Technology. He is currently a board member of LES International and is listed as one of the world’s leading IP strategists in the IAM Strategy 300.
